West Valley City - The West Valley Symphony with Music Director Donny Gilbert will perform a “Music of the Night” concert. The performance will be held at the Granger High School auditorium, Saturday June 5, 2010 at 8:00 pm.
The West Valley Symphony, founded in 1990, is an all-volunteer orchestra of nearly 80 musicians. The orchestra has performed from Logan to Provo, including performances in Abravanel Hall, the Salt Lake Tabernacle and the Taylorsville Dayzz celebrations.
Granger High School, which opened in 1958, is located in the Salt Lake Valley, an urban center of over one million people. In 1958, the area around Granger High School was predominantly rural/agricultural in nature. Since that time, the school and surrounding area has undergone dramatic changes stemming from a transition from a rural neighborhood and homogeneous school to a highly mobile, multi-ethnic community and rapidly changing urban educational center.
Granger High School is currently the peformance venue for the West Valley Symphony.
